Landscape – Skateboard Deck Review – Nick Stansfield – Lisa

An overview of Landscape Skateboards along with a 'Lisa' pro deck review

Landscape Skateboards came into being back in 2003, as Mark ‘Fos’ Foster and Daniel ‘Snowy’ Kinloch decided to rebrand and reboot their Organic Skateboards outfit which they’d created a few years previous. The original team – as seen in their first full-length video, the classic ‘Portraits’, filmed and edited by the late Chris Massey – was made up of Snowy, Olly Todd, Joel Curtis and Toby Shuall. Fast forward to 2017, and the Landscape line up has grown to include Joe Gavin, Joey Pressey, Nick Stansfield, Jin Shimizu, Ash Hall, Jethro Coldwell, Jeremy Jones and Keanu Robson. After 13 years in charge of the brand, Snowy parted ways with Landscape back in 2016 to concentrate his efforts on Wayward Skateboards, which he currently runs alongside his long time accomplice James Edson.

Prior to Snowy’s departure, Landscape dropped a Mancunion shaped hammer and elevated long time Lanners representative Nick Stansfield up to the professional ranks, awarding his years of loyal service to the brand with a hugely popular debut pro board sporting the image of Lisa Stansfield, another talented export from Granadaland.

“The increased surface area of the nose coupled with the 8.25” width of the board could also be deemed helpful when it comes to popping (and riding away from…) those Stanners-esque nollie flips”

And what can be said about Nick’s top-selling signature deck? Well, aside from the striking image of a young Landscape beret bearing Lisa, the board comes in an industry standard popsicle shape, weighing in at 8.25” wide with a medium-to-deep concave, a substantial nose and a slightly shorter tail, making this board perfect for the more technically inclined street skater. The increased surface area of the nose coupled with the 8.25” width of the board could also be deemed helpful when it comes to popping (and riding away from…) those Stanners-esque nollie flips, or locking comfortably into the occasional ninja-like kickflip backside noseblunt-slide.
