adidas Skateboarding – Miles Silvas ‘One Stop’

The adidas Skateboarding rider demonstrates insane levels of board control

adidas Skateboarding presents ‘One Stop’ – which sees Numbers Edition rider Miles Silvas demonstrate an insane amount of board control to piece together one, uninterrupted three and a half minute long line (from first to last trick). Three minutes and thirty seconds. Technically it’s a half an hour long line when I skate to work and ollie up curbs, but he’s not doing that – he’s kickflipping over handrails, chucking out effortless switch 360 flips on the flat and generally hitting Los Angeles’ Wilshire Boulevard in a fashion which will have even the most jaded old skateboarder picking their jaw up off of the floor for just long enough to press the ‘replay’ button again. The instrumental from The Latin Jazz Quartet and Eric Dolphy perfectly compliments this ‘cruising through the city’ vibe, giving the whole clip the feel of a classic Stereo Skateboards clip and inspiring the sensation of wanting to go push around the city without the disassociation which can come with watching clips of skateboarders with this much talent when your talents lie mostly in the field of ‘early grab’.

To be honest, if he’d tried this sort of carry on in Salem during the late 1600s he’d have been told to land five switch flips underwater – if he drowned he’d prove himself as mortal, otherwise he would definitely be a witch. Seriously though, this is consistency at a level you’re rarely going to see on a skateboard, even in this day and age where every person and their dog is basically amazing. Watch it, press the replay button to watch again, do it maybe one more time then go out and fucking skate. Miles Silvas, we salute you!

There is a few walking interludes though, so to be honest I’ve no idea if the line counts at all and will have to consult Ricky Oyola at his earliest convenience.
