Sunday Service – Casper Brooker pro for Isle Skateboards

Yet more excuses for celebration via our weekly Sunday Service thanks to the mid-January announcement that Casper Brooker was turning pro for Isle Skateboards.
Casper, despite his youth, has been around for a long, long time.
From the tiny blond kid in skin-tight jeans flinging himself repeatedly down the stairs at his beloved Southbank era, to his current incarnation as Isle and Nike SB’s very own Man Mountain Marko, on hand to deliver the goods on everything from Atlantic Drift edits through to contest appearances – Casper has maintained his status as a thoroughly lovely young man.

A firm favourite of ours both on and off the board; over the years we’ve shared plenty of quality time with Purley’s finest in tour vans, on the contest circuit and, perhaps most significantly, in the pub in countries across the globe.
My own personal highlight of time spent with Mr. Brooker revolves around a 4am two-man bike ride through the pouring rain in Malmo on a hired shopping bike with no tyres that somehow transported us both safely back to our hotel, despite dislodging my kidneys as it bounced across the infamous cobblestones that form the surface of 90% of said Swedish city.
Looking back on that experience – it was neither big nor clever in retrospect but, if nothing else, it brought us closer together as near death experiences often do.

Anyhow, this is Casper’s Sunday Service, not mine, so enough of revelry and male-bonding. Last Sunday, the 14th of January 2018 – the good people over at Isle Skateboards decided to award Casper with his very own pro skateboard after years of putting in the necessary work in front of the lenses of many of the UK’s finest filmers and photographers so, in order to highlight and celebrate that – we thought we’d remind you all of Casper’s excellent 2012 section from Slam City Skates ‘City of Rats’ which you can see above, (filmed and edited by long-time friend and grafter Henry Edwards Wood).

And, as an added bonus, and because it ties in with the cover photo of the perilous 5050 in Manchester which acts as the header for this Sunday Service – we’ve also included the 2014 Nike SB ‘En Route’ UK tour video featuring a chunk of solid skating from the big man.
Well done Casper – let’s go to the pub soon mate!
