Not much innovation happens in the skate space. We’re not going to say skaters are resistant to change, but wheels have been made of polyurethane since the 70s and boards are still seven ply’s. Anywho, that’s not what we’re talking about today.
We’re talking about Shawn Hale, longtime Birdhouse pro and get this, inventor!
His product isn’t about a new griptape formula either (thank god), it’s a therapy-centric slide called Avos. Centered around the therapeutic benefits of rolling a tennis ball on your foot’s arch, Shawn found personal relief through his product and is now bringing it to the public.
He agreed to show us some of the process of creating the slide, from a 3D printer in his bathroom to the stacks of prototypes in his storage unit. Something tells us this product will be everywhere in a few years, so enjoy this early look into Shawn’s foot relief revolution.
Check out AVOS here.
